Spoke with Lane tonight and he is in really good spirits. Through much advocating by him and his family his discharge date has been extended to June 16th. The treatment team continues to be impressed by his improved functioning. He is practicing rolling himself in bed which would help to eliminate the need for 24 hour care. In addition he is able to move the fingers in both his left and right hands and now has gained functionality in his right foot as well. He tried the standing harness for the first time today and puked his guts out but is excited to try it again. He goes into the pool for the first time in the next day or so and can’t wait to be "weightless". He went on another outing to the movies and saw the new X-Men movie with his fellow SCI crew. His attitude is much more optimistic as is his desire to advocate and take control of his circumstances.
